Derailed!

I’m a couple of days late, but your girl has been derailed. My mind clouded, vision blurred with tears, angry, confused, and just damn TIRED! The beginning of this blog journey is saturated with insight and challenges to invoke the value of self. The promotion of self-care is not a narcissistic ploy, but an uprising movement of healing. A healing from toxic mindsets, cycles, atmospheres, and relationships. Because we all are familiar with the old adage, “You can’t help anyone until you help yourself”. When you’re healed and thriving you’re so much more effective in your life and in the lives of others. Therefore, the comprehension of your value increases, and in turn allows you to empathize, honor, and respect the value of another’s life journey.

I see you, no longer through a lens of my own hurt & pain.

I see you, with a sober mind of wise counsel ready guide to you to a place of wholeness where we all should reside.

I see you, and I’m eager to forgive and uplift the words of brother King, “Can’t we all just get along?”

Extending an invitation to the cookout; a gathering of love and celebration on the soil of this country built on the blood, sweat, and tears of our ancestors; but some how you still don’t consider this our home.

We see you, with a healed heart ready to accept you with the love of God, hugging you in courtrooms for the world to see when your admission of guilt is blatantly obvious.

We see, the value of all God’s creation, but you still only see ⅗ of we, with even the three still not considered worthy of our being.

Why? Why not me? Through all this intentional healing opposed with such murderous hate grieves our community, and the trauma and pain being compounded in the passing few weeks is beyond heartbreaking.

Not to mention…Oooooooh I really don’t want to mention, but you hold such a powerful seat in this country. And it’s a shame you can be so vigilant concerning looters and encouraging that they be shot on site, but no immediate response to an unjust justice system in murder of Mr. George Floyd?

I see you, we see you outrageously clear. How long do you expect peaceful protest? We’re under extreme distress. Thank you for those who see us and walk beside us. Please spread this message of urgency...STOP KILLING US!

The niece of Black Men

The sister of Black Men

The friend of Black Men that simply desire to live.

And so many more BLACK LIVES that were taken that MATTER! Even the criminalization of our rich melanin skin must STOP!
